Discoveries

Wow...I am flabborghasted at the amount of new things I have found lately. From the sex of my child to who invented Conan the Barbarian. It's a very interesting time and in the end I'm kinda glad for it all. It's definatly giving me alot to write about, even if it has not been put on paper yet. I am ready to start writing the good stuff as well as any other little piece of something that comes flowing through my head. I also have to read my dads writing, which should be an interesting venture. Other than that slow right now but more to come soon. I'll keep you posted.

Getting the ball rolling

Started reading The Gunslinger after I finished The Stand. The thought of Captain Trips and the T/G/Ouroboros viruses intrigues me as an addition of sorts to the story. Maybe not on a mass genocidal scale but at least creation and distribution. I don't think, in my world, a virus will destroy the world, but in the least the creation of such an assortment of devastating viruses created in a lab could be useful. A lady just got rolled into the waiting room Im in with my wife. She looks like someone infected. Her skin is bleached and has no pigment. Her skin is drawn tight over her old bones but looks as if it would ript into a million pieces just by touching it. Its no doubt in my head that this poor woman only has cancer or something along those lines, perhaps alheimers or something equally non contagious, but the way she looks... what if someone infected her? Just her no one else. A testbed for something else. Someones personal human incubator. Developing something so secret and so powerful none will be able to stop it. She is infected and she is defiantly non contagious. Her husband obviously seems to basically be waiting for her to pass. Her red irritated eyelids are encasing her yellowed eyes but its hard to tell if they are red because of the illness or because of crying, are staring at him, it seems in utter anger and disappointment. He doesn't seem to notice...or care he just looks on ignoring her entire existince in the waiting room. He's ashamed and disappointed himself. Perhaps he knows something. Perhaps he knows why she is how she is. Most folks don't care about the elderly. They don't notice they exist. Ironic that he would do the same at his age but understandable her age and fragility reflects his like looking into the mirror. He just seems to smile at here infrequently, hoping in his heart of hearts that it will be enough to pacify her aching body and heart. They could also just be and elderly couple in a waiting room passing the time before their appointment like the 15 other people in here but the first story seems more interesting. She's not here though. But maybe Ill let her be soon.

Inspiration continued

Now that I have my 2 mains worked out, for the most part, its time I moved on to the story. I've toyed with some thoughts about what I want in my head but I haven't really committed anything to paper as it were. I'm slowly recalculating what I would like to see happen both now and in the future. More importantly is style to the writing. I am falling in love with the atmosphere I've lived in mentally for the last couple weeks. The redesign really did well so I thing telling everyone about what I see wont be hard to do. I really want everyone to feel what she is going through and to think ahead. I've started rereading some Sherlock Holmes as well as some older Stephen King. I think I may throw some Clancy in there, just to stir the pot but I think in the end, that's where I'm headed.

I dream in white as of late. I don't really get why, but when I see her in some situations, its so clean and white. Funny enough is that's a factory Im talking about. A dirty greasy place full of oily chains, moving cogs, grime, dust and all around generally not the ideal place that you think of when the words clean or white cross the tip of your tounge but that's what I saw. Can't explain much more, but this is where im at now. More to follow soon as ideas develop and I start pumping out the saga. Happy fake finding America day everyone!

reinventing inventions

Well the redesign is going fairly well. I think I have the main character all figured out. Like her weapons and things that she'll use. I've also figured out her first and probally only mode of convayance. It's been a long process this week but it's been mostly using my imagination and then seeing how far I can take it in the real world. I'll post something up when I definate look at what I'm trying to do. The real major problem comes down to doing it in as realistic of sense as possible without going so far out in my imagination that it could not be possible. Cause really thats what I want, for it to be a possibility. I want someone to look and say "Dude I saw something like that on this Discovery Channel show!" But I also wanna make real techological jumps so people want it too. It's a really hard balance. Especially since I'm going to be combining so many forms of tech in just one thing. This isn't even the main charaters outfit its just her convayance! But I'm taking inspiration from all over the place. I've spotted things here and there for things I want and now it all seems to be taking form. Kinda awesome. Anyhow more to come as I keep going.
